You can read the full research and conclusions here

This is of course good news for teachers of the Alexander technique!

Shape Posture Seating do not promote any one particular type of treatment for back pain, but like to offer a variety of options for our customers to consider. However, we completely agree with the aims of the technique to promote a healthy posture by changing bad postural habits learned over your lifetime. So often we see the same bad postural habits when assessing people in the workplace, and any technique that can have a positive effect in changing this can only be a good thing! The fact that the BMJ research backs up the effectiveness of the Alexander Technique is a very positive one for their industry.

If you are interested in pursuing this treatment option, we have a local teacher, Alice Knight, who can be contacted on knight.alice@gmail.com, or 01433 631874.
