WHERE WE STARTED
Some 40 years ago we were one of the first companies in the UK to become interested in developing the idea of posture seating when, coming from a background of general office furniture, we introduced the quite revolutionary idea of ‘kneeling chairs’ from Stokke in Norway, to the north of England.
The success of this new concept encouraged us to concentrate our skills and knowledge in the workings of ‘ergonomics’ (the relationship between people and their workplace) and in 1997 we changed our trading name to Shape Posture Seating to reflect this new focus.
Our main focus today is combining this extensive experience with excellent service and ergonomic solutions to provide our clients with the confidence and knowledge that they are ensuring the very best health and wellbeing of their staff.

Shape Posture Seating is a family owned and run business. We all love our work, a factor that comes across to everyone we speak to during a working day. We believe that by staying comparatively small as a company we are able to relate to our customers and build relationships that we feel would be impossible in a large, impersonal organisation.
MORE THAN JUST A CHAIR
Shape Posture Seating won’t simply sell you a chair. We will look at how you will be using that chair and how this will relate to your working environment. We will instruct you on how to get the maximum benefit and, if you want us to, we will set the chair up on site and advise you on whether your equipment is in the right position to help improve your working posture.
ACCESS TO WORK SCHEME
Shape posture Seating have been supplying specialist equipment through the Access to Work Scheme for over 25 years, and continue to provide an exceptional level of service, which is why we are used time and time again. We work closely with assessors to ensure that they are happy with the chairs they recommend, and often provide advice on new and existing products - our specialist knowledge has been invaluable on many occasions.

Shape Posture Seating are proud to be recognised as a supplier of specialist ergonomic equipment for the Disabled Students Allowance scheme.
