HOME-WORKING? #STAYBACKSAFE

WORKING FROM HOME? Stay BACK Safe

Working form home can be challenging to say the least; distractions from other people, the kids, pets, and with no supervision, it can be difficult to keep motivated and productive.

To top it off, if you’re uncomfortable whilst trying to work; sitting at your dining table, on a hard dining chair, looking down at a laptop, or sat on the sofa with laptop on knee, then you’re likely to find plenty of excuses to get up and do anything else but work!

Creating an effective, safe office space is essential in helping to keep you focused and reduce the risk of neck, back, leg pain, stresses on the spine, muscle fatigue and pain.

Purchasing good posture aids, whether that be a good quality office chair, laptop stand, height adjustable platform or a simple portable back support, can be the best investment you can ever make in keeping your spine and upper limbs safe and mind focused. Take a look at our top choices for home working!

TIPS FOR WORKING FROM HOME

  1. Set your alarm! It is so easy to avoid setting the alarm when you have no where to go. Set your alarm as normal as a start to your daily routine.

  2.

  1. Get dressed! Sound like common sense? However, I have been guilty of this myself; with nowhere to go and no one to see, it’s easy to just stay as you are. However, getting out of your PJ’s and into ‘day’ clothes, will help with your mindset and getting down to your daily tasks.

  2.

  1. Set work goals for the day and build in breaks; these will help to improve productivity, mental health being and reduce muscle fatigue/pain .

  2.

  1. Give yourself clearly defined action programs and specific deadlines to help keep you focused and stay on track

  1. Keep organised; is your desk suitable for the tasks you are completing; a height adjustable desk or platform could be considered in helping to vary your working postures.

  2.

  1. Can you sit comfortably? Invest in a good quality office chair or back support

  2.

  1. Check in with co-workers; working from home can feel isolating and lonely. Organise specific times in the day to talk to colleague/s.

  2.

  1. Complete your working day at the same time as you normally would; close the laptop, close the door and relax!
